GB7JB - 70cm DMR
Current Status: Off Air - Site Move
Insufficient generating and storage capacity at this time. GB7JB is a Digital Voice Repeater, based on DMR TDMA technology. Thus providing the significant benefit of two simultaneous communications channels, or slots.
Channel DVU37, 439.4625 Mhz output at 14 dBw (25w) ERP, 430.4625 Mhz input, Colour Code 1. The ident is the Callsign + Locator, i.e "GB7JB IO81VC". This is sent in analogue FM. The timeout is set to 3 minutes. Slot 1, which only accepts Talk Group 9, is intended as a local natter channel, much the same as any other 70cm repeater. However Slot 2, which only accepts Talk Group 950, is linked into the South West Cluster, which additionally consists of GB7AA, GB7BS, GB7CW, GB7ED, GB7DR, GB7KT, GB7MJ, GB7SD and GB7YS DMR repeaters. Accessing GB7JB via slot 2, means that your signal will automatically be re-transmitted, not only by GB7JB, but also by the other repeaters of the SWC, thus providing significantly greater opportunities for contacts as a result of the combined coverages.
The South West Cluster of DMR Repeaters is an independent network of repeaters that is NOT centrally controlled or funded. Coverage is of course dependant upon the users actual location, topography and installation, as is the case with all VHF / UHF communications. |
